We’re the team behind Northern Cafe, Vancouver’s hidden gem since 1949 and Vancouver Magazine’s 2025 Best Brunch winner. In that cozy diner above a lumberyard, our handmade gyoza became an unexpected favorite — ordered alongside pancakes, eggs Benny and wonton soup.

The award-winning Northern Cafe has been a hidden gem in Vancouver’s dining scene for over 80 years. Known for its warm, welcoming vibe and comforting dishes, Northern Cafe is where locals gather for hearty breakfasts, comforting burgers, and, of course, delicious dumplings.
